Mactan International Airport on the island of Cebu is served by
an increasing number of airlines. At pres ent Singapore
Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Malaysian Airlines and Gulf Air all
fly directly to Cebu. Aside from these direct flights you can fly to Cebu via Manila, several times a day. Have a look here for the
flight-schedules.
Probably the easiest way to reach ALONA BEACH from Cebu is by fast ferry which takes around 90 minutes. At present there are a vast number of daily
boat-schedules by fast ferry and more by slow ferry (4 hours).
Once in Tagbilaran, Bohol, you have the choice between a "tricycle" (good for two persons with luggage, see picture) or cars (good for four). The trip to Alona Beach takes about 40 minutes.
If you're heading for MOALBOAL you'll be arriving at Cebu Airport from where you can take a rent-a-car or taxi to Panagsama Beach, Moalboal. (traveling time around
two hours and 30 minutes).
Another option is to take a taxi or rent-a-car to the South Bus Terminal to catch the local bus to Moalboal. Upon arriving in Moalboal you'll have to take a tricycle for the last three kilometers to Panagsama Beach.
Be careful in choosing your arrival- and departure-dates. If your flight lands in Cebu on Good Friday or on Christmas day, there are no domestic flights to get you to Bohol.
The ferry-boats have a day off too, so you're stuck in the city, paying for
an overnight stay in a hotel and losing a day at the beach.
